Medical Representative - Primary Care West (Maternity cover)
Your tasks and responsibilities
Maintain a good direct relationship with your assigned customer base, identifying prescribers and other users of medicinal products with a potential for greater use of your assigned Bayer products (General Practitioners, Practice nurses, Pharmacists etc) and, through your efforts and influence ensure they have an understanding of the benefits of our products.
Plan and conduct your visits on the assigned territory according to the principles of best practice, as guided from time to time by your Manager.
You will be mindful of covering the target audience at the designated frequency in an efficient manner, in accordance with the access that is available and the geographical distribution of the customer base.
Conduct sales reviews of the products assigned to you, using such sources as are available, including in-house sales data, IMS, CRM e-sales systems, Tableau and other similar tools and be familiar with the performance of your assigned products and those of your competitors. This will also involve preparing reports of the main activities on your territory in a structure described by your manager, including details of your activities and those of your competitors and forward it to the office by the dates required.
Work closely with your secondary care and territory partners on creating territory projects and territory account plans in line with the overall brand strategy.
Quickly relay to the relevant team member any request for medical information you cannot directly answer or for details of any company product for which you do not have responsibility, so that the enquirer receives a prompt and efficient service. You should also remain familiar with the Company procedures relating to the reporting of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) and report these in a timely fashion, as required.
Remain mindful of the relevant sections of the Company Handbook, which refer to the ethics of business and ensure you adhere to these while also ensuring that the promotions undertaken by you are within the terms of your training and other relevant guidelines including the law, the IPHA Code of Marketing Practice and any other regulations, which apply at the time of the promotion.
Responsible for delivering pre determined Sales targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis as assigned by your manager while ensuring the direct costs in your territory do not exceed the costs agreed with your manager.
Act in an entrepreneurial manner, identify new opportunities for enhancing the business on your Territory and of your Business Unit and the company overall.
Share your enthusiasm with your customers and colleagues alike and drive the business forward.
You will work closely with your management and territory team to achieve these results.
Who you are
in this position)
Member of the Medical Reps Institute of Ireland
Relevant 3rd level Science or Medical Qualification or equivalent
Relevant Post Graduate / Vocational Training is desirable but not essential
Good one to one communication skills and Ability to present in a group setting
Ability to manage self effectively Solution focused approach
Previous selling experience in a Primary Care setting is desirable
Knowledge of the Irish Healthcare Industry would be desireable
